The South Port Community Housing Group Inc are putting on a FREE FESTIVAL and you're all invited! Head to Marshall street (behind the South Melbourne Town Hall) in South Melbourne on Saturday 11 May 2019 from 11am to 4pm for 5 hours of fun and entertainment, all for free. Just rock up with family and friends, as SPCHG foster pride in community housing, bringing together all those who call South and Port Melbourne home.
SPCHG is a unique player in Victoria's community housing sector. They've determinedly maintained its local community focus while becoming a significant provider of low-cost housing to single people at risk of homelessness in the communities of South and Port Melbourne. They also rely heavily on support and donations, so do give them a call if you'd like to get involved. Their management style is supportive and they provide more than just housing, but build a sense of community, so come along and be a part of this endeavour and have a good time at the festival.
There'll be live music, performances by locals including school kids and community housing residents, great food, an art gallery, community stalls, information, workshops and much much more. All ages, classes, races, religions, ethnicity, gender - EVERYONE is welcome! Join in celebrating diversity and raising awareness regarding the realities of homelessness. Give them a call if you, or anyone you know would like to perform at this event.
