South Perth Arts & Events Fiesta

Artist Tom Muller showcases a beautiful work of art which is illuminated from 6.45pm to 9.45pm from Thursdays to Sundays during the exhibition period. On Saturday the 5th of March 2016 from 5pm-9.30pm at Sir James Mitchell Park, watch a concert under the stars illuminated by the city's lights in the background as talented Nathaniel takes to the stage with his latest collection of songs including You, You're Beautiful and Live Louder from his recently released album, Yours. The concert includes pre-show entertainment, food trucks and kids activities as well as spectacular fireworks from Pagoda Resort and Spa. 3) A Park for All Reasons
The City of South Perth Historical Society presents an exhibition covering the story of Sir James Mitchell Park from its inception to present day with a focus on the Chinese Market Gardens. From 10am to 4pm from 5th to 19th March 2016 at the Gallery & Cultural Centre, 111 Mill Point Rd, South Perth, view artifacts, photographic images and maps over the last 100 years for a gold coin donation. Special guest Kaylee Poon, a specialist on local Chinese history will be present on opening night to talk to guests and answer questions on early Chinese history in WA. 4) Totally Addicted to Play
On Saturday the 5th of March, bring your kids down to McDougall Park Community Kindergarten, Corner Bruce & Henley Street, Como for a morning full of play with plenty of activities like a mud kitchen, water fun, scavenger hunt, construction activities, loose parts play and more. Entry costs $5 per child.
Held on 20th of March, the closing weekend of the Fiesta, come to the free market held on Angelo Street as it transforms to a bustling marketplace. There will be over 120 stalls offering gourmet food, arts and crafts and fashion as well as local talent performing on stage. There are also pop up bars, cider and champagne tastings by Liquor Barons on Angelo and temporary art installations. 6) Gopher Muster
On Sunday, the 20th of March, senior citizens are invited to compete in the popular Gopher Muster contest. Seniors will compete in time trial heats to take out the title of 'Champion Driver'. Held between 9.30 am to 1pm at the South Perth Senior Citizens Centre, 53 Coode Street, South Perth, entry is via a gold coin donation.
