Event:
Celebrate Australia Day a little bit differently
Come and experience life aboard Queensland's Tall Ship South Passage for a relaxing sail along the Brisbane River on Australia Day.

This cruise is perfect for getting out and about with the kids or extending the holiday season so come along and get a taste of what it's like to sail on a Tall Ship without the worry of seasickness.

South Passage Brisbane River Cruise
South Passage Brisbane River Cruise

Never sailed before? The crew will be happy to show you the ropes and show you some of the traditions of 19th century sailing, all while dressed in period costume to set the scene. The cruise will give you a chance to see what it was like for the early sailors to navigate the bends of the Brisbane River.

Alternatively, sit back, relax and take in the city view and fresh air! Enjoy with an esky or picnic basket. Choose from either a balmy afternoon cruise along the river (11am - 3pm), or a leisurely twilight cruise to take in the magic and lights of the city (4pm - 8pm).

The 100 foot long, gaff-rigged schooner is a working ship, meaning that you can take part in sailing the vessel. There is no sailing experience required with South Passage's crew on hand to help show you the ropes.

Departure: Mowbray Park Jetty, Lytton Rd, East Brisbane

Your Comment
Hi Jemma, I took your advice and booked the evening cruise for Oz Day and it was wonderful. My wife Liz and I enjoyed every minute of the four hour sailing experience, which was highlighted by a spectacular fireworks display, later that evening. The crew, most of whom were volunteers, were friendly and helpful. The cost was very reasonable and in my view cheaper than buying a good cut of lamb ! Thank you for the recommendation. Martin
