With Christmas over for another year, it's now time to relax and enjoy everything that summer brings, without the stress. One of those things, is the wonderful South Melbourne Night Market that returns each Thursday from 10 January to 28 February 2019.
Maybe you fancy a crispy fish salad or some wonton tacos from Bambu, or an ice cold beer and some fabulous food at Claypots Evening Star, Paco y Lola, Köy or Simply Spanish. The Aptus Oyster Bar will leave seafood lovers satisfied, with plenty of freshly shucked oysters, maybe paired with a crisp white wine.
This year, the line up of food stalls and food trucks will be dishing up plenty of favourites. Amongst others, try the tasty chicken from C'est Chick, it's tres bien, and then cool down with a Mexican ice cream from Chilbro Paletas. If American style slow cooked BBQ is your thing, you'll be licking your lips and fingers at Smokin Barry's. The hardest decision you'll need to make all evening is which one to try next.
Over at the Neff Market Kitchen (Stall 90), watch chefs whip up some of your favourites - with tastings of course and receive a copy of the recipe so that you can make the dish at home. You will also receive a Market bag and a $10 voucher to spend on the ingredients next time you visit.
Classes are $15pp and run for 30 minutes. The following will be on offer and you can click on the link to find out more and book your spot:
On Cecil and Coventry Streets, two stages will be hosting a variety of performers keeping you entertained throughout the evening. Click here for details of the artists performing. Dancing is encouraged if only to help the food go down, so you can go back for seconds.
Malcura for some Latin Rock and Roll
If you'd like to squeeze in a bit of shopping during the evening, there will be plenty of unique and interesting stalls to browse in and pick up a gift or something special for yourself. Click here for details of the stalls that will be operating.
