While the Queen Victoria markets are your lovable elderly aunt, the South Melbourne markets are your fun-loving, hip and trendy aunt.

These markets are awesome, they are almost more like a very hipster shopping centre than a market hall.

Each shop holds a collection of quirky items and all are entirely unique to the store beside them. The decor is very fun and bright and helps create a very fun shopping experience.

They are extremely popular and busy and they are in fact predominantly indoors, making them ideal for all weather conditions and a perfect hideaway from the cold.

The one thing they were lacking was food stalls! There were a few confectionery shops but unlike most markets, there were no freshly cooked or baked delights up for grabs.
