I'm a freelance writer who lives on the Bellarine Peninsula. I enjoy finding new things to see and do in the beautiful area that I live in.
Event:
Quite often, we hear about the selfishness of some businesses and tradespeople, only interested in turning over large profits rather than helping out the community. These corporations would rather spend the big dollars promoting themselves rather than contributing to worthy causes, even if, in the process, they gave themselves a favourable image. Luckily, there are plenty of smaller businesses who are happy to sponsor and contribute towards the fundraising efforts of community groups and schools.

South Geelong Primary School is one of those schools that are lucky enough to have the support of many Geelong businesses, both suburban and central, as well as some from Melbourne. With over one hundred sponsors contributing towards the evening, the primary school will be holding their annual fundraising Carnival on Friday 15 March. From 4pm until 8pm, the grounds of the school will come alive, with plenty of fun and entertainment for the whole family.

As well as market stalls and a dedicated kid's zone, there will be a variety of foods and drinks available to purchase, provided by just some of the many sponsors. There will also be plenty of interesting rides, including Electric Pacer Karts and Aqua Balls. For those interested, there will be Harley rides, and a giant slide, or you can pet the animals from Tracey's Animal Farm.

Musical entertainment on the evening will include performances from the Sweethearts, as well as members from the Geelong High School Band- both of these Geelong-based school bands are extremely talented and their members are sure to go far in the music world. If you go for no other reason, you should check out the musical talents of these students.

Of course the biggest source of fundraising comes from the auctions (both silent and loud) which will be held on the night. With such a large range of businesses sponsoring the event, there is sure to be something of interest for your bidding pleasure. The South Geelong Primary School Carnival promises to provide entertainment for the whole family, so why not join over a hundred businesses in supporting a great local primary school?
