I am a world traveller & a mom of two, (8 & 6). I love to meet people, and am fascinated that there are 7 billion stories out there to be explored. I think Melbourne is the most happening city to live in with all the fun activities around town.
Understanding Art 101: Visit an Arts Festival
I once read somewhere that "Artists create identities for culture and societies". Promoting arts is therefore imperative for cultures to thrive and evolve from one identity to another. Art has a pleasing, almost soothing effect on one's soul and thus visiting arts exhibitions is ever a popular activity with people around the globe. Melbourne hosts a variety of arts events throughout the big city, promoting local and international art and artists, from the past and of the present.

One of the upcoming arts show is taking place in the South Eastern region of Melbourne and is claiming to be the largest art show of this region from 20th September to the 22nd September. The South Eastern Art Festival (SEAF for short) was launched in 2008, after the Dandenong Festival for Art and Music for Youth was closed down. The main objective was to provide a forum for the youth and other artists to showcase their talents in the realm of art. From its humble beginnings, the Art Show has experienced growth as more artists and more art forms are now entering the show. This year, the venue hosting the event is Nossal High School which is located behind the Berwick campus of Monash University and a total of 600 entries or more are expected to be displayed at the show.

The entries will be judged by two judges and the awards will be presented by none other than Sir Gustav Nossal, an eminent medical scientist and immunologist based in Melbourne, who also received the Australian of the Year Award in 2000, among the many other accolades to his credit.
The cost of entry for adults is $10, concession card holders is $8 and for students is $2.
Pablo Picasso, a reknowned 20th century artist, said: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." If you, as I, have been unable to retain the child artist in you but still have the ability to appreciate art as an adult, this exhibition will provide yet another opportunity to do so. Original art will be available for purchase.
