One of the restaurants located within Charles Plaza in Rundle Mall, South Cloud Kitchen specialises in popular Chinese noodle dishes that are similar to those found at MW Dumplings. All their noodle dishes can be ordered as a regular or large sized dish. The regular sized serving should be sufficient for most appetites.

The Kunming Style Noodle is one of the "dry" noodle dishes. It had a good amount of minced beef which had a delectable spicy flavour that was not too intense. A generous serving of edamame beans, corns, shredded carrots and shredded cucumbers added an element of freshness and crushed peanuts provided some crunch. The dish is best enjoyed by mixing it thoroughly to spread the flavour of the beef throughout the noodles.

We were delighted that the beef in their Special Beef Noodle Soup was tender and well complemented by al dente noodles. There were also roasted peanuts to provide some contrast with their crunchy texture. Helping to complete the dish was the broth, which had a spicy taste that should be suitable for most palates.

Similar to the Special Beef Noodle Soup, the Kunming Style Small Pot Noodle Soup makes use of beef mince to give the dish a meaty texture. The inclusion of Asian greens provided the vegetable element to the dish. The broth can be quite spicy so it is advisable to drink it slowly.

In addition to their noodle dishes, South Cloud Kitchen also serves dumplings that can be enjoyed as a snack or a side dish. The filling of their Poached Pork Dumplings was very juicy and the dumpling skin was not too tough. If you desire to add more flavour, you can dip the dumplings in the soy sauce and chilli sauce before eating them.

South Cloud Kitchen's location at Rundle Mall makes it a convenient place for shoppers, students and office workers in the CBD to drop by for a delicious bowl of noodles.
