Affordable alfresco dining with million dollar views
After the long, cold winter there's a sign that summer is finally on the way. Starting on 3rd December until March 2017 the South Beach Sunset Markets will reopen on Saturday evenings from 5pm to 9pm. This family and dog-friendly event was a big hit last year so make sure you don't miss out this season.
The South Beach Sunset Markets restart on 3 December
Food stalls will be set up on the grass to the north of the South Beach kiosk in Fremantle. You can eat at the tables and chairs set up in the middle of the stalls, or sit on the grass or the beach and watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean. This is a great opportunity to sample a variety of cuisines from around the world together with free entertainment from local acts. Free parking is available, but judging by the crowds last year you might be better off to cycle or catch the free CAT bus.

This year the organisers are trying to reduce plastic use at the market. Stall holders have been asked not to bring any plastic products, and customers can help by bringing their own plates, cups and cutlery. There will be a washing up station set up near the showers so you can rinse them before you leave.
As organiser Georgie Adeane said, "If we all did this it would be a step in the right direction. The world is drowning in 'single use' plastic rubbish that NEVER goes away. Let's make a big effort this season."

If you don't want to buy food from the vans you could bring a picnic and enjoy the relaxed vibe by the beach. Either way, this is a great option for an affordable alfresco meal with million dollar views as you watch the sun set on another day in paradise.
