I have to admit, I am a bit of a market junkie. So when a friend asked me if I wanted to head into South Bank Lifestyle Markets on Saturday afternoon I was keen. I have to say, this isn't my first trip in to the weekend markets. They seem to be a constant place to see when friends are visiting from out of state, but it had been a few years since I had a wander around South Bank. I have to say I was really impressed. Between the hand made clothes and jewellery and the trinkets and collectables, it was a great way to spend a lazy afternoon.
We finished off with a chocolate filled banana while we sat on the grass and took in the late afternoon sun. I forget how much of a great little meeting place we have in the heart of Brisbane. If you have a free weekend or you're just keen to taste a yummy chocolate filled banana (trust me they are worth it) then check out the markets next time you have a chance. There are also so many new cafes and bars popping up around there, if you're looking for somewhere to have lunch or dinner after, there is an array of places to choose from. The South Bank Lifestyle Markets are open every weekend on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
