SAPMA's premier modelling event returns this October with their 35th annual event!
The 2017 South Australian Scale Model Expo will be held on the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October 2017 at Immanuel College, Novar Gardens.
The South Australian Scale Model Expo is the premier modelling event hosted by the South Australian Plastic Modellers Association (SAPMA) and is considered to be the longest running annual event of its type in Australia and the world.
This two-day event showcases hundreds of stunning museum-quality models, built by some of the nation's best model builders (both young and old) including aircraft, cars, trucks, military vehicles, ships, dioramas, sci-fi and historical figures.
Also present at the Expo will be dozens of local and interstate hobby traders selling model kits and accessories, modelling tools, reference books - in fact, just about everything connected to the flourishing hobby of plastic scale modelling.
Plus model makers will host demonstrations and many of the exhibitors will participate in the main attraction of the expo - the South Australian Scale Model Competition - a major technically judged competition with more than 50 trophies and prizes on offer to entrants.
This popular event is family-friendly and is a must for anyone who has an interest in the art of scale model making. It's a wonderful opportunity for parents to introduce their children to an ageless hobby which involves the construction and painting of model kits suitable for all ages and skill levels.
The 2017 South Australian Scale Model Expo will be open to the public from 9am to 5pm on both Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October 2017. The entry price for visitors is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for concession card holders and children under the age of 17. A family ticket for two adults and two children is priced at $18.00.
