Silos around South Australia are being transformed into epic works of art by renowned artists. These silo artworks have somewhat formed an outdoor gallery which provides insights into regional towns across the state. I saw my first painted silo in Kimba last year, and have since made various road trips to see the others. Here's where you can find them.

1. Kimba, at the top of the Eyre Peninsula. This silo art by Cam Scale depicts a young local girl playing in a wheat field at sunset.

2. Tumby Bay, on the eastern coast of the Eyre Peninsula. This silo art by Martin Ron and Matt Gorrick depicts two boys jumping off the town jetty.

3. Wirrabara, in the Southern Flinders Ranges. You can read more about this silo art here .

4. Waikerie, in the Riverland. You can read more about this silo art here .

5. Coonalpyn. This silo art by Guido van Helten represents the town's hope for the future with a painting of five children from the local primary school.

6. Karoonda. You can read more about this silo art here .
