Perth, Western Australia, saw the conception of the Soundwave festival in 2004. For the first three years, the festival was held only in Perth, before travelling to Australian capitol cities - Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide in 2007.
Since then, every summer Australia's capitol cities are ambushed with a full throttle metal barrage.
This spring sees Soundwave come back with Soundwave Revolution - from late September to early October.
Soundwave is known to host large scale international bands - Iron Maiden, Janes Addiction, Nine Inch Nails and Rob Zombie - just to name a few. And now the revolution is coming with the biggest Soundwave to date. With the classic metal bands joining forces with the rock bands of today, it is sure to be the rock revolution we've been waiting for.
There is something for everyone at Soundwave Revolution. Lovers of 80's metal have Van Halen, Danzig and Alice Cooper, the contemporary metallers have Machine Head, In This Moment and Hatebreed. Even the pop rock kids are covered with Yellowcard, Dashboard Confessional and Panic At The Disco. To some the line up sounds eclectic. But this is a revolution.
Bringing together all the subgenres of rock and metal, in one place with different stages to satisfy all your music needs. The greatest rock festival this year is on its way, and when Soundwave Revolution strikes, it will be felt all over Australia.
The venues have not been announced yet, but the dates are up so you can start your countdowns.

Such a shame this was cancelled. Looking back at the line up it was such a promising event. Shame that it all got cancelled due to one act pulling out, I am sure they could of got someone else as well but oh well. Soundwave 2012 is where to be now.
