With shows in most Australian Capital Cities (Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney), Soundwave provides an opportunity for heavy metal, rock, punk etc. fans to see all their favourite artists in one place! Previous artists to rock the Soundwave stages include rock legends Iron Maiden, Bloodhoung Gang, Slipknot, Jimmy Eat World and Queens of the Stone Age.
2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Soundwave and they have brought out a mammoth lineup. Featuring international superstar acts such as Blink 182, Metallica, Linkin Park, The Offspring and Paramore. I could write forever about the lineup but if you want to know more, checkout the full lineup and website here. For more regular updates and for competitions and news, you can also check out the Official Soundwave Festival Page.
Due to the incredible lineup, tickets this year are around $200, a large increase on previous years but understandable given the quality of bands this year. The promoter has also stated prices will return to a more affordable and normal level next year as the festival returns to normal.

Although most tickets have sold out for the 2013 installment of Soundwave, the festival has recently organised an official and safe Buy/Trade/Sell program, so if you're keen to attend, keep an eye out on the on the BTS program here.
Soundwave also features a number of 'Sidewaves', sideshows with some of the biggest artists for fans to have the opportunity to get closer and more personal with their favourite bands. With bands such as The Offspring, Blink182 and Paramore doing sidewaves this year, check out the full list and for tickets, click here.
The event is licensed and all ages, for all to enjoy, but I wouldn't recommened it for younger children. There will likely be cloke rooms at each city however you should check this before attending, and cameras are permitted (providing it is not professional photography equipment).
Checkout Soundwave 2013 this year, but be aware you will be hooked and left wanting more.
Just to let you know that in Sydney, the event is not all ages anymore. Because of venue restrictions, they had to change it and it's now over 15 only. They'll be returning the money to those who already bought the ticket and are under the new minimum age. Good news for the over 15s that didn't get tickets in time.
