Always been inspired to write, and love the idea of freelancing now. Enjoy quaffing wine; good coffees and being festive in the festival state. Thirsting for experiencing so much more...

Sound Stream - a fabulous way to celebrate Spring

Spring is definitely a fine time for music.

As part of the 2012 Sound Stream collective, there will be, for this last part of the year, a performance of the seminal work:' The Rite of Spring' , which has inspired a century of music. Featuring two world premieres by Paul Grabowsky and Mary Finsterer, there will be no less inspiration, with this concert.

Paul Grabowsky and Gabriella Smart, will perform Stravinsky's own transcription for two pianos, of 'The Rite of Spring' on Friday, October 12 at Elder Hall, North Terrace.
Bookings can be made on www.trybookings.com/BGNY

Alternatively, in October, there will be: 'The Violin Speaks', with Jon Rose, who performs prolifically in major festivals around the world.

Being 'an extraordinary Australian visionary', Rose challenges, commands and 'explores the boundaries of sound' in one of Adelaide's or even Australia's most beautiful and awe inspiring buildings; ' he is a musician, improviser, speaker and instrument creator, who highlights the rich diversity of Australia's music history', and showcases it.

With what promises to be both a unique and exhilarating performance, Rose exhibits music which has been all but ignored by the establishment, but cannot be by us!

What else could you want to do in Spring, but hear the strains of this season?

Piano Phasing

Piano Phasing is a phenomenon created by Kristoffer Zegers, a Dutch composer; soundstream has commissioned Elena Kats Chernin to compose a piece for performance at this event.

Having received world-wide acclaim, piano phasing brings together a massed gathering of 60 pianists performing on 30 pianos, in a free event, which will be staged in the Adelaide Town Hall, another magnificent Adelaide icon of architecture, with awe inspiring acoustic dimensions .

Soundstream Collective 2012: featuring Australian and World premieres is a series of concerts which celebrates acclaimed composers.

"I was speechless for some time afterwards,
so affecting were the writing and the performance." Real Time

Great Music in Great Spaces (and New Waves Listening Club) showcases a series of musical experiences 'which considers architecture from an acoustic perspective and from the site of a specially adapted significant South Australian edifice'. This is an innovative series of concerts, which are musical experiences to be admired for their breadth and scope. Whilst New Waves Listening Club presents an alternative to a book club; presenting a music experience complete with wine and cheese - for true music enthusiasts only.

I'm sorry, but what more could you want from life - astounding music, with wine and cheese? I could die and go to heaven.
