Brought to you by the SCOOP Foundation Australia (Supporting Children Out of Poverty), Sounds of the Soul at The Rooks Return, 201 Brunswick St, Fitzroy on Sunday 4 February 2018 from 2-5pm is a free entry event featuring a live performance by Jess Morwood and local artists. Travelling all the way from India Jess hopes to raise money for the kids at the Jeevan School in Varanasi.
Having founded the school on the ghats of Varanasi over 10 years ago, Jess travels the world to raise money which goes towards the education, health and wellbeing of the kids of Samne Ghat, Varanasi. Do bring family and friends and join in for this entertainment filled fundraiser.
Joining Jess will be Chris Gogerly who will also perform with his Celtic Instrument Trio (Chris, Kathleen and Brendan). In between sets, Jess will share her touching and inspiring stories about this special school which runs on donations.
Jeevan Schoool provides free education for 130 plus marginalised children and boarding home facilities for 30 street children. As a fundraiser, though the event is free, you are encouraged to please bring cash along to donate from the heart, to the school. Donations over $2 can get a tax deductible receipt emailed to you if required.
