I'm a grandmother, a retired teacher, an avid reader who loves historical re-enactment, English Country Dance, writing and Op Shopping. My business www.StepIntoHistory.com.au is designed to help children experience history through school incursions.
Wellwood Health at Loganholme will be hosting two Sound Healing sessions - one on Friday 23 November at 6.30pm and one will be Friday 16th December at 4pm. Classes are by yoga teacher Tracie and are for 75 minutes.
If you haven't experienced sound therapy, it involves relaxing while you listen to a variety of sounds such as singing bowls, gongs, rainsticks or chanting.
No effort is required on your part... just lie back and enjoy the experience.
Sound - like our body - is a vibration and has been used since ancient times with the use of drums, didgeridoo, flute, singing and chanting. Singing bowls of crystal or copper have become popular in recent years and are sometimes used at the culmination of yoga classes.
The theory is that the sounds enter and realign the cells of your body, balancing the right and left sides of the brain. It can result in a shift in energy physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
If you are not sure how you feel about gongs, try Tracie's Monday Yin yoga class which has a short component of sound at the end. In fact, try it anyway. It's great.
Numbers are limited, so do book. Cost $30. $15 to new clients. Check out membership packs. They are very good value.
