Where do you get the best and most innovative tracks in the Western part of Brisbane?

Almost a year to this date, a young couple, Benson and Kellie, came up with the idea of starting their own unique barber shop in the township of Camira, a suburb ideally situated in between the cities of Brisbane and Ipswich. Benson came up with the idea when he found how frustrating it was to have to wait for hours just to get a haircut and some tracks. With a couple of young, experienced and trendy barbers, he set up Soulcutz Barbershop at 320 Old Logan Road, Camira to fill this niche, and since then the shop has been going from strength to strength.

In the leafy suburb of Camira, Soulcutz Barbershop, is easily accessible to customers from the western suburbs, the sprawling city of Springfield as well as all the suburbs of Ipswich city itself. The striking colours of bright orange and black, pulls you in and once inside, there is a feeling of camaraderie as customers sit, socialise, play pool and watch as the three barbers ply their trade.

It is an enjoyable experience watching what sort of work of art will be revealed as these young men deftly wield their tools. The smile of pure joy on the faces of the customers when they view their hair-style at the end is wonderful to behold – more so on the faces of children, when they turn this way and that to better see the results.

I watched a lady walk in one day to have a haircut and I wondered what sort of tracks she would go for. The end result was amazing and truly pleasing to the eye. She had her hair falling in a long fringe at one side but then on the other side she had some tracks zigzagging just above her ears. When she walked out of the shop, she had a great smile on her face of pride and satisfaction.

Soulcutz Barbershop will be celebrating its first anniversary on Saturday the 24th of March, 2012 with an Open Day. The day will kick off at 9.00am and go on till 4.00pm with a free sausage sizzle as well as live entertainment from several well known bands such as Kevin Keepa, Far.Ai, Soulcutz band and many more. The barbers will also be plying their trade, so this is a great day not only to have your hair done and get some tracks but also to enjoy the fellowship and listen to some great music.
