Adam Hall and Richard Jackson share some soul
Parkerville Tavern will be the soul of the Hills on Saturday February 24.

They'll be joined by two of Perth's soul music legends, Hans Fiance and Roy Martinez as the opening act.

Richard Jackson, renowned for his velvet voice and incredible range, will be in Perth for a series of shows and will join Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys on the Parky's outdoor stage on a journey of soul music for what's likely to be an unforgettable twilight concert.

The Soul Rhythm Spectacular will feature the music of some of the greats of soul including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and James Brown.

Jackson will sing hits like Stevie Wonder's Superstition, Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel, Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On and many more classics, with the full horns and background vocals of Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys.

Co-owner of the Parkerville Joanne O'Connor said the concert should be a wonderful way to enjoy a Perth summer evening.

"It will have people dancing under the moonlight before they know it," she says.

Cincinnati, Ohio-born, Richard Jackson, grew up in a musical home and went on to a classical training before falling in love with jazz.

Over 20 years, he's gone on to perform all over the world and is now based in Singapore.

Accomplished trumpeter and vocalist, Hall began playing as a 10-year-old and studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.

Adam has toured the world and worked with musicians including James Morrison, Don Burrows, Vanessa Amorosi, Grace Knight and many more.

He formed rhythm and blues band Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys in 2005.

Along with Adam on vocals and trumpet, the band's lineup includes Mark Turner on guitar, Anthony Dodos on trombone, Bronton Ainsworth on drums, Kate Pass on double bass and Adrian Galante on keys.

Joanne O'Connor says the Parkerville is one of Perth's best outdoor music venues and the evening will be soul music at its best.

"It will be full of dancing and smiles, so come for a night of fun and music," she says.

Gates open at 4pm and the concert starts at 5pm with Hans Fiance and Roy Martinez, warming up the crowd.

The Soul Rhythm Spectacular Show will then run from 6.45pm to 9pm.

The all-ages event offers a great opportunity to get together with friends and be entertained with great music and to enjoy a meal from the a la carte menu at Parkerville or a wood-fired pizza.

The historic, restored, two-storey federation style Parkerville Tavern is a family pub and restaurant in the heart of the Perth Hills.

Tucked away in a wooded valley surrounded by walking and bike tracks the Parky has become a much loved local and is a great place to gather for friends, couples, and families, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating along with a children's playground.
