Get your groove on and kick start 2017
Ease your way back into 2017 with a series of free DJ music events, taking place at the Hawthorn Civic Space (adjacent to the Hawthorn Arts Centre), at the intersection of Burwood and Glenferrie Roads, Hawthorn.

Titled On The Corner, the series kicks off at 6.00pm on Friday 20th January, with Melbourne based DJ, event curator and radio presenter, MzRizk. Having supported such Australian acts as Remi and Hiatus Kaiyote, and international acts including Mos Def, Public Enemy and Maxwell, this series opener promises a soulful start to the program.

On Friday 27th January, Melbourne's Saca La Mois DJ!!, who has toured Europe, USA, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand will get locals up and dancing. Saca La Mois DJ!! is also known for hosting 'Space Is The Place' on PBS 106.7 FM, where he selects quality grooves from his vast crates of vinyl and digital releases.

The final set, on Friday 3rd February, is with DJ Noodle Brown, who will mix up her longtime love of old school soul, funk, dancehall, boombox hip hop, British pop-rock, brown velvet tracksuits and snakeskin onesies. Her sets seamlessly transition from Minnie Riperton to The Specials, Serge Gainsborg to Gorillaz, and Patty Smith to Sugarhill Gang.
