More than just a ferry ride - it's an adventure
The Sorrento-Queenscliff Searoad Ferry might primarily be seen as a transport link between the Mornington and Bellarine Penninsulas, but the trip itself is also an adventure.

Departing daily on the hour, every hour from 7am - 7pm, passengers can board at either Sorrento or Queenscliff for a one way trip or return fare.

We departed from Sorrento Pier on a weekday. Tickets can be booked online for a discounted price, or at the ferry terminal on the day. We went on foot, but there's also the option of taking a car, or even a bike across. Once the cars had been loaded on to the ferry, we made our way up the stairs and inside, and settled into a comfortable window seat booth to enjoy the ride.

Foot passengers can watch the cars disembark

If you're keen to be in the elements, head out on deck to take in the sea views. Back inside the spacious cabin, there's a cafe with savouries, sweets and drinks, and various nautical themed souvenirs. Little ones can be kept entertained with the play area.

After 40 minutes, the sound of churning water as the boat turns around to dock is a sign that it's almost time to disembark at Queenscliff Harbour. For kids on foot, this is a great opportunity to watch the vehicle plank being lowered, and all sorts of cars, trucks, motorbikes and vans slowly unload.
