The Sorcerer's Bar on Bank Street in the city is a magical and mysterious wizard-themed bar.
The place is teeny weeny - only 15 people can fit into the main bar and 10 outside. It's very compact and is believed to be the smallest bar in Adelaide. It's open only 3 nights a week and gets crazy busy in the evenings. But you must go! And if you have to... wait! This place is worth it - you'll see why when you order your drink!
The Sorcerer's Bar ran for a brief time during the Adelaide Fringe where it was a huge success. The bar was so popular that owners Tira and Than have officially opened the doors for those who are fans of the Potter stories or are simply after something fun and different while on a night out.
This small, quaint bar has a very cool "Harry Potter-esq" atmosphere. Millennials who have grown up with the books are bound to go nuts here - the drinks menu is carefully crafted with interesting and exciting names. I can't remember a time when reading a menu was so much fun!
Even if you're not a die-hard Harry Potter fan, it's an enjoyable bar to visit!
The drinks are mind blowing with potions and bubbles and dry ice galore. There's an extensive cocktail menu which is innovative and unique. The drinks are well presented and taste just as good as they look. I don't want to give too much of the magic away, but I just couldn't believe my eyes when a smoking cauldron arrived, as did a colour changing gin. My Butterbeer shot was sublime! Many of the drinks are served in giant crystal goblets that are designed for sharing with a friend or two.
The Sorcerer's drinks menu has exciting potions such as: Butterbeer shots, Polyjuice Potion, Half-Blood Sangria and the Phoenix which changes colour as you drink it.
If cocktails aren't your thing then don't despair - they have German beer on tap and served in 3 litre glasses. Yes - 3 LITRE GLASSES! Designed to share with friend of course (please drink responsibly).
The beers available at The Sorcerer's is another Adelaide first. Nowhere in the CBD can you get these specially handcrafted draught beers - they've been imported exclusively for The Sorcerer's. On tap is Maisel's Original, Landbier 1857 and the Landbier Zwick'l.
The food menu is limited but they can offer snacks such as butterbeer popcorn, bulgogi beef jerky, Shitake mushroom chips and edamame.
Sorcerer's is first of it's kind in Adelaide and I give it two thumbs up. Keep your camera handy for when the drinks arrive and enjoy this tiny and very unique bar. Your cauldron awaits!
