For an audience of one
As the 2017 Adelaide Fringe approaches and we prepare ourselves for what many consider the most exciting time of the year to be in Adelaide, venues big and small will pop-up and accomodate artists from all over Adelaide, Australia and the world. Venues can be anything from a pub or tent, to an alleyway or a deserted hospital. However, in the case of SONDER this unique one-on-one performance explores connection, shared experiences and our everyday rituals in the intimate and cosy gallery space called SHANTY TOWN Art Space, which is part of Blue-bird Coffee Lounge on the ground floor of 129 Currie Street, Adelaide.
Some folk will be well aware of BlueBird Coffee Lounge as the popular venue for local musicians and artists, whether it be acoustic blues/jazz sessions or showcasing emerging SA artists and craft makers, as well as art and craft workshops in the adjourning Wunderkammer Gallery.
Since September 2016, Wunderkammer Gallery has been enjoying a new life as part of Blue-bird Coffee Lounge and its combination of delicious coffee and teas together with its live music, creative workshops and SALA exhibitions.

Sue Fleming has taken on the role of Events Director and is currently excited to welcome the first of two Fringe shows - SONDER and Telephone Call to Heaven 2017. Check the Fringe Guide for details.
SONDER' is a debut work devised by Melbourne-based performer, Catherine Holder. Catherine has recently graduated from Deakin University with First Class Honours in Drama. SONDER is a unique one-on-one performance exploring connection, shared experiences and our everyday rituals.
It explores the proximity of physical comfort with our familiarity of the everyday, versus our discomfort when we engage with the unknown. Through sharing stories, joint activities involving touch, material and presence, you are invited to make the bed with Catherine.
SONDER promises to be a warm, comfortable exploration of honesty, a visible marker of the invisible threads winding through our lives.
Each performance is 15 minutes in length. There will be a total of 174 performances. This innovative theatrical show offers patrons the opportunity to participate in the performance making it a memorable experience, for sure.
