Son of a Gun is an American-style diner on Hamilton's busy Beaumont Street. They are open from early (6am) in the morning until midnight with plans to operate as a 24-hour diner.



The menu is full of decadent full-flavoured fatty delights but there are also plenty of gluten-free options and meals suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The servings are generous and the prices are good. Forget the diet and hoe into a plate of deliciously sticky wings that have nine different spice and marinade options.



Son of a Gun is a family-owned and child-friendly business that has been operating since November 2019. The decor is eclectic and the art wall is a great conversation starter. Children are provided for with toys, colouring in, special meals and shakes.



Alongside the standard menu, they have specials for food and drinks such as the chicken tacos ($19) and the maple-glazed Atlantic salmon ($28).



For the ultimate comfort food. dig into the southern fried chicken on corn bread waffles with jalapeño butter, maple syrup and fried kale for $20. Wash this down with your choice of beverage from the large range of craft beers, wines, cocktails, frappes and juices.



Settle back into your plush velvet booth and share some desserts in order to extend your experience. Sample some interesting flavour combinations, such as spiced rum bread and butter pudding with flambé bananas and caramel ice cream or a baked New York cheesecake with macadamia, lemon curd and raspberries.
