Something On Saturday started over 40 years ago as an alternative to taking kids to the football during the winter months. The arts-focused program provided by Adelaide's Festival Centre is aimed at children and their families. The program runs over winter and brings a variety of fun children's arts and entertainment shows to the stage every Saturday afternoon.

This year, the Festival Centre brings acts from all over Australia including magic shows, kids comedy, ballet and dance, music and cultural performances. In addition to the shows in the theatre, there is an arts and crafts program either before or after the event. These are usually for an hour or so and are themed on the type of performance for the day. The workshops are free. Shows are held at The Playhouse or Her Majesty's Theatre.

To see the full program see here or pick up a paper program at a box office. Check which venue the show is at. Tickets start at $12 but generally, they are about $20 a show for kids. There are discounts if you buy a few at once. Tickets also available at Bass outlets.
