Get 12 March 2018 on your calendar as it's the Somerville Family Day at the Fruit Growers Reserve, Edward St, Somerville. There's something for everyone and entry is free. Live entertainment, market stalls, rides, sheep shearing, pony rides and lots of food vans makes for a fun family day at the biggest event in town. The Community Member of the Year Award will also be announced on the day, so come along and find out who this awesome individual is!
A fundraiser for the Somerville CFA & Community House, show your support and have a jolly good time. You'll be serenaded by bands, vocalists, dance schools and local schools on the stage, while kids enjoy lots of free kids activities. Bring your picnic rug and secure your spot early on the oval.
Please keep in mind, though they love dogs, it's a Dog Free Zone for the day to keep the pony rides, petting zoo and sheep safe, calm and happy, at the event. Thank you for your understanding. Take them home a special treat or a chew toy instead to make up for it from the local PETstock on 79 Station Street, Somerville.
Show & Shine is back after 3 successful years. They return with a show of shining classic, custom and performance cars, bikes and boats, along with a People's Choice Award! Entry for this event is $10 on the day and all proceeds are going towards purchasing goals for the local junior soccer club.
The CWA will also be having their Arts and Crafts Exhibition on the day over at the Mechanics Hall on 66 Station St, Somerville. Entry is free and you may see a roaming Star Wars characters in the vicinity. Help the CWA raise funds for their local charities as they showcase the Somerville Community and the many talents it holds. Check out some beautiful handmade sewn and knitted articles, patchwork, embroidery, lace, quilting, cushions, toys and dolls, pottery, cookery, other crafts and more. With 69 categories on a list, there's plenty to enjoy.
