It was a total write off...

Arriving at South Melbourne Market you are instantly immersed in your stereotypical market culture - the noise of traders heckling their fruits & vegetables, the smell of fresh flowers, store after store of discounted goods and market-goers trying to find their place amongst all the craziness.

But, take a step further in and suddenly you enter a different realm - one of creativity and inspiration. This is the SO:ME Space, a space described as 'a new retail concept, bringing together the best emerging and established designers in an innovative environment for the purpose of brand growth, experimentation and development'.

Entering this space is refreshing; there is room to move and rather than vendors yelling at you to buy their goods, you are greeted (in some instances) by the very makers of the goods themselves! The space has a mixture of upcoming and established designers across various product categories. As well as permanent store holders, there are a number of pop-up stores rotated every four weeks to showcase the best of emerging designers.

Trading is each day of the South Melbourne Market - Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and it is expected that in the future the space will expand its hours into the evening.
