A feast for your senses
What senses do you use when you eat? Are all 4 or 5 senses put to the test?

Recently we enjoyed dinner at a little Thai restaurant in the Logan area and all of our 5 senses were given a work out. We enjoyed our dining experience through our 5 senses.

First there was sight. The restaurant itself was very colourful from the decor and table settings right through to the food that was presented.

Second was the smell of the food being prepared which made our mouths water in anticipation. Thirdly the taste buds were used as we dined on the tasty Thai cuisine. Along with taste was touch and texture of the food as it danced on our tongues.

And finally the fifth and last sense that was utilised was our hearing from the pleasant conversation at the table to the background Thai music being played.

Our dining experience here at Somchai's restaurant really employed all of our senses for the sheer enjoyment of the feast.

What did we choose to eat? For entree we enjoyed calamari and coconut prawns which were both crispy and tasty. Our mains on this evening were the duck red curry and the spicy prawn stir fry, both of which were very colourful, fresh and tasty.

We were happy with our choices and we were happy that we had found another restaurant to dine at in the Logan area. The restaurant is located at the Daisy Hill Shopping Plaza. It is BYO and there is a bottle shop close by for those who also like to have a glass or two of wine with their meal.

Somchai's is open for dinner from 4.30 to 9pm and also has a take away facility as well. The restaurant is on the small side so reservations on busy weekend nights would be recommended.

A true dining experience incorporates all of your senses and it is a pleasure when they all are satisfied with the occasion - a well rounded and simple pleasure.
