Solve and Unlock - Puzzle Room

As I've mentioned
before puzzle rooms are popping up all over Brisbane, and our city is all the better for this because these brilliant little activities are truly a fantastic activity to do with mates. One of our favourite venues is Solve and Unlock in Sunnybank. The hubby and I have been twice now to their Lab Rat and Missing Missy room. We are even planning to head back again next week to try their third room, but we have to find another couple willing to double date with us, because apparently Missile Meltdown is so tricky you need four people minimum to complete it.
The rooms are perhaps not as well made as the other escape rooms created by some of the larger chains but the puzzles themselves are certainly on an equal playing field (and in some cases BETTER, because the creators have not over-thought anything). In fact I would even say that this is probably my favourite puzzling venue. Plus, it is always nice to support small business.
It is hard to review these venue because I truly don't want to give anything away about what goes on inside the room. But I will tell you this; once you are locked in you have 60 minutes to escape. You have to move fast, because from first glance it may seem like you are in a one-room puzzle, but you will soon find out that is not the case, and as you move through the obstacles they get harder and harder. You have to use your visual, word and mathematical problem solving skills and works as a team to solve the crime or the mystery or risk being locked in there forever…. (or until the kind workers come and let you out).
What is extra great about Solve and Unlock is the prices. Many other puzzle rooms charge $100 plus per room, which means that if there are only two people playing you are suddenly paying $50 each. I'm not going to lie it was this very fact that attracted us to Solve and Unlock over all the other puzzle rooms in Brisbane. And my goodness we are glad we tried this brilliant little place out because we have already been back once since and intend on going again to try out the third room next week with mates.
