If you are looking for the perfect and relaxing beach getaway that is close to Sydney, yet feels like you are millions of miles away, picturesque is the one!

This pristine natural wonder is one of the few Central Coast beaches to remain untouched from urban development. It sits on the south side of the headlands in Norah Head and faces southeast, with a well-protected north end. Sweetly-curved 1km in length, the beach is home to spectacular clusters of rocks that build lovely sand-covered reefs.

Being protected from the north-easterly winds, is perfect for families with the little ones. It is patrolled from September- October school holidays to the April school holidays.

is a favourite amongst surfers with reliable waves all year round. The conditions are favourable and if you are not a surfer, do not worry; you can learn how to surf at Central Coast Surf Academy.

If you love fishing, the rock platforms near Norah Head Lighthouse or Pelican Point are the best fishing spots. The Flat rocks either end of the beach allows access to the deeper water, however, do take care as waves sweep over the rocks at high tide.

The beach's rocky shores dominate the first 2km south of the head, with two exposed beaches that are located amongst the rocks and reefs and are separated by the low Soldiers Point.
