Love running, but hate doing it alone?

Why not join fellow runners for a weekly 5km run on Saturday mornings. This group of runners meets every Saturday at 8am and you will find people at all fitness levels. The great thing is you can run at your own pace, it's you against the clock.

The run takes place at the Berwick Springs Promenade, Narre Warren South (see map) and is a mixture of paved and gravel paths and wooden bridges, in a beautiful park setting. You will find volunteer marshals and signs guiding you along the way.

While this event is free, you will need to register the first time you run (see their website for more details).

This run has a real community spirit and runners catch up for coffee after their run at Gloria Jeans in Berwick.

So whether you are adding this to your training schedule, are just a beginner runner or you're looking to get out and make some new friends, make sure you check out parkrun.

There are other parkruns right across Australia, some local ones include Frog Hollow (9km), Pakenham (12km), Jells (21km) and Mornington (29km) – click here for more information.
