So Frenchy So Chic: music, food & wine the Frenchy way
This francophile food and fun fest is in its sixth year at Werribee Park Mansion and the Melbourne forecast is fine and mild. Up and coming young singer-songwriter Sophie Maurin will kick off the program onstage, followed by crooner Bertrand Belin, cool dudes The Limiñanas, the ever-popular Nouvelle Vague, rounding the entertainment off with the dance beats of Deluxe.
Bring your own picnic hamper or set yourself the challenge of choosing between the wide range of stalls serving calamari frites, charcuterie salads, oysters, mussels, Haute Dogs by Maille, crepes and ice-cream. Or take the coward's way out and order a picnic hamper from Ed Dixon Food Design.
So Frenchy is a family-friendly event with children 12 and under free of charge. There are lots of activities to choose from – the monster bubbles are a personal favourite but croquet, face-painting and games of life-sized chess are also on offer. It's a fabulous day out for Francophiles of all ages.
