A new adaptation of the May Gibb's classic, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, will come alive on stage at the Casula Powerhouse on 24th June 2015.

In this play the gumnut babies, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, are on a mission to see a human, "but only in the distance", as the fearful Cuddlepie says. On their journey to the big city they meet Professor Kookaburra, Mrs Fantail, Mr Lizard, Mr Frogg, Mrs Snake, Mr Possum and Little Ragged Blossom. However they must beware because not all of these bush creatures are friends!

The characters of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie first appeared in 1918 as a childrens picture book by May Gibbs. They are two little gumnut brothers who have many adventures in the Australian bush. The stories feature different characters based on Australia's native fauna and flora. The books have delighted generations of Australian children by introducing them to the magic of the Australian bush. The books also feature an environmental message as prefaced by Gibbs "Humans, please be kind to all Bush creatures and don't pull flowers up by the roots".

Children aged 5 - 10 are invited with their families to enjoy the play at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre on Wednesday 24th June 2015 at 11.30am or at 6pm. There is also an option to enjoy a pre-show dinner (for the 6pm show only) including pizza with garlic bread and salad plus ice cream with topping and sprinkles.

Tickets for the show are $20 for Adults and $15 for Children (under 16).

The pre-show dinner costs $15 for Adults and $8 Children ( or $40 for a family of 4)

Bookings can be made here or by calling the Casula Powerhouse.

The show is a CDP Production in association with Monkey Baa Theatre Company. Enjoy a night out with the family at Casula Powerhouse and introduce a new generation to the wonderful world of May Gibbs.
