Who's the fairest of them all?
His Majesty's Theatre is playing host to one of the world's most loved fairy tales, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in a production by the West Australian Ballet. Telling the well known tale of beautiful Snow White, who meets seven quirky dwarfs after the Evil Queen (her stepmother), tries to kill her care of the huntsman. Setting up home with the dwarfs, Snow White lives happily in the forest, until her bliss is interupted by the evil Queen. Will a Prince save the day and find Snow White? Find out through this beautiful ballet reenactment of this magical tale.
If you've got young ballet fans in your family, this would make a perfect first ballet to take a young ballet prince or princess to, as the story is well known and this will make it easier to follow than some of the more complex ballet. Couple an easy to follow story, with beautiful music, costumes and some cheeky dwarfs and you've got the making for a production that all families will enjoy. The running time for the production is around 2 hours and does include an intermission, so whilst the ballet will enthrall young fans, this is still a long sitting time, so bear this in mind when you are considering the age of child you are taking.
Running from Friday 21st November, until Sunday 14th December including weekend matinee performances in addition to evening shows. Tickets are available through the website here, with prices ranging from $10 up to $108 for a premium ticket. Look out for the special priced discount tickets on Thursdays in C Reserve. Children under 2 years of age are free if sitting on parent's lap.
If you want to find out a bit more about this production, then join the free pre-performance talk by the artistic team at 5.45pm on Thursday 4 December, at the theatre. This would be a great opportunity for ballet fans to understand more about the production process.
