Enjoy winter magic from Bondi to Parramatta
Winter in Sydney and the school holidays sees a number of winter-themed festivals across the city and suburbs. The big one is Cool Yule in Darling Harbour but there's also Bondi Winter Magic and Parramatta Winterlight Festival. Let's look at each one and what's on offer.

Cool Yule in Darling Harbour

This one is a first in this mega precinct and has some free and some low cost activities, day and night, as follows:-

80ft inflatable Thredbo snow slide - 6yrs , free
ice skating rink at Tumbalong Park - Adults $24, Children (4-12yrs) $14
giant Lindt Zorb balls - spend $15 in the Lindt Chocolate Cafe or marquee and get a free ticket to roll around in one of the balls at Cockle Bay, 10am-5pm, 6yrs
Air NZ snow globes - climb inside and imagine you are in Queenstown, free, at Tumbalong Park and Palm Grove
Cool Iceberg - free, 24hrs, Cockle Bay
Frozen Forest - free, 24hrs at the Civic Connector, Darling Quarter is a magical glittering wonderland

Snow Pit in the forecourt of the Maritime Museum - build a snowman or have a snowball fight, Sun-Thurs only, $5 for 20 minute session
Let it Glow - giant illuminated snow flakes at Palm Grove
fireworks on Saturday nights - 8.30pm at Cockle Bay
falling snow from dusk - Mon-Fri only

Parramatta Winterlight Festival

This one is on at Prince Alfred Park on the corner of Victoria Rd and Church St and has the following:-

life-sized snow globe to enter
alpine winter village with a range of food stalls and a bar
lots of workshops for the kids from making snow globes and lanterns to jewellery and hats, face painting, and more
community group displays
light show
live entertainment and DJ's on Friday and Saturday nights spinning your favourite tracks
