Rapper Snoop Plus Warren G To Return To UK For Cancelled Gig
He's one of the most famous names in rap but Snoop Dogg is not letting the Coronavirus outbreak get in the way of celebrating over 25 years in the industry with his British fans.
Snoop Dogg fans get a second chance to see him in the UK
The West Coast rapper has rescheduled his long-awaited I Wanna Thank Me UK tour, postponed due to the global Covid-19 restrictions.
Featuring some of his most famous collaborators as special guests, fans will also be treated to performances by Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice, D12 and Versatile. The rappers are set to drop it like it's hot next year at five UK venues.
Originally planned for April 2020, Snoop Dogg will now perform at Birmingham Resorts World Arena, Manchester Arena, London's O2 Arena, Leeds First Direct Arena and Belfast's SSE Arena between February 11 and 20 in 2021.
The West Coast rapper will also nip over to Ireland to play Dublin's 3Arena on February 19.
Snoop Dogg's tour follows the release of his 17th album I Wanna Thank Me along with a documentary of the same name.
Snoop Dogg has been in the music business for over 25 years
With over 25 years in the music business, the Doggfather has had a huge influence on rap and helping to raise its profile into the mainstream.
From his Doggystyle album with hits like Who Am I (What's My Name)? to tracks Murder Was The Case , Doggy Dogg World, Still A G Thang, The Sniznet and Drop It Like It's Hot.
While Young, Wild And Free saw Snoop Dogg team up with Wiz Khalifa and Bruno Mars to continue his appeal to a new generation of fans.
Snoop Dogg started rapping in sixth grade but after school, spent time in prison following several arrests for drug possession. He started making music as a way out of his troubles and recorded early demos with his cousin Nate Dogg and friend Warren G as 213.
A track on one of these came to the attention of Dr Dre, who invited Snoop Dogg to collaborate on track Deep Cover for the soundtrack of a film for the same name. It led to Snoop Dogg becoming the key rapper on Dr Dre's hugely successful first solo album, The Chronic, in 1992.
I Wanna Thank Me is the latest album
Working with everyone from Timbaland to Pharrell and Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg's popularity has endured during three decades.
Reinventing himself continuously since emerging in 1992 at Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg has also found fame as a businessman for cannabis product industry, a TV personality and film star in movies including Starsky & Hutch and Training Day.
Always looking to break the mould, in 2007, Snoop became the first artist to release a track — "It's The DOG" — as a ringtone prior to its release as a single.
This tour reflects this the breadth of his iconic music career with Snoop Dogg teaming up with West Coast hip hop royalty of Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice and D12 on stage. They will also be joined by the multi-million streamed Irish rap duo Versatile.
