I'm not a big breakfast eater but I appreciate the value of a good start to the day, so as soon as Spring hits I ditch the Winter porridge and get back on the breakfast smoothie train. Here are three of my favourites - they are all vegan and the first two use a combination of nuts and water in place of milk, but feel free to substitute milk if you prefer.
1 banana 1 cup strawberries
1 fresh date (use 2 if you have a sweeter tooth) 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of allspice A handful of almonds soaked overnight 1 cup water
Instructions: simply wash strawberries, cut stems off and throw everything into the blender (be sure to de-seed the dates, rinse the almonds and discard the water they were soaking in)
