Then you can not miss out on the Smooth Festival of Chocolate 2016! It's a celebration of everything sweet and indulgent. A sugar-filled festival where the best patisseries, ice-creameries, boutique chocolatiers and restaurants all come together to tempt you with their decadent creations. This year, the Chocolate Festival returns to The Rocks on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2016.
The Smooth Festival of Chocolate promises to bring you all the latest dessert trends in Sydney. This year's event will feature over 80 mouth-watering stalls, offering a range of gourmet desserts, including exquisite bean-to-bar artisan chocolate, mouth-watering macarons, crave-inducing cronuts topped with caramel popcorn, and slurpy self-saucing chocolate puds!
I attended the Chocolate Festival last year and The Rocks precinct literally transformed into a sugar-dusted playground! It was crowded and packed, everyone seemed excited at the sight of scrumptious delights and never ending displays of dessert treats. It was certainly a joyful moment on a perfect sunny day.
There were so many dessert stalls and the gorgeous-looking cupcakes, chocolate-dipped churros, sugar-dusted Oregano Scrolls, Zumbo's dessert creations, creative chocolate encrusted milkshakes, macarons and artisan handmade chocolates tempted our taste-buds.... and much, much more.
With so many great chocolate goodies and dessert stalls, it was really hard not to buy and sample each product. It took some willpower for me to limit my chocolate consumption but there were plenty of goody bags with yummy treats available for purchase after our samplings. Think about all the referrals for D&D (Dental & Diabetic) check-ups at the end of the day!
The "Lindt Lounge" is lounge space on the lawn in front of the Museum of Contemporary for visitors to enjoy the spectacular sights and sounds of the smooth Festival of Chocolate.
There will be a special appearance by Lindt Master Chocolatier, Stefan Bruderer, arriving from Switzerland exclusively for this festival. You get an opportunity to customise your very own Lindt Excellence Block with your name (or perhaps the name of someone special!) for $8.
There will be a pop-up patisserie with 3 delicate and exclusive new éclair flavours – Salted Caramel, Hazelnut and Chocolate Available for $6 each. Limited capacity at any one time.
If all of these desserts are not enough to satisfy your insatiable chocolate cravings, do check the La Renaissance Patisserie for some authentic Relais French Desserts!
