Enjoy their long progressive rock jamming tunes
Smoke are a local band that call themselves "a hard rock band with influences of jazz, prog / psych-rock".

Smoke perform at Blues Rock Riot 2

I caught them performing as part of the second Blues, Rock, Riot line-up at X & Y Bar and truly enjoyed the experience. Playing as a four piece on the night, two guitarists who also perform vocals, a five-string bass guitarist and drums, their tunes reminded me of one of my favourite bands, The Jimmy Swift Band, who've moved onto other projects, from when I lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Technically called prog-rock, I really enjoyed the aural experience of different jams within their songs, with a heavy yet floaty feeling, which seemed to take the listener on a journey, resolving back to the early riffs before ending. Most of their tracks were about seven minutes long, but unlike that song that never ends, it was genuinely an aural pleasure.

To keep up to date on their gigging, like them on Facebook here.
