Newly-elected SMASH! President Ray Elinon said the SMASH! team were delighted to welcome Ms Haruko Momoi as a guest at this year's convention. "In the past we have had special Japanese guests, from director Shinichi Watanabe to voice-actors such as Miki Shin-ichiro and Sakura Tange," Elinon said.
"SMASH! is a Japanese popular culture convention that is for everyone - not just manga and anime fans. This year we hope to bring something different to the table and Miss Momoi is the perfect guest to commence our guest list for SMASH! 2013."
The primary focus of this event is to allow fans to meet and interact with other like-minded people, show off their own creative talents, buy anime and manga related goods and celebrate their fandom in a social environment. SMASH! encourages all forms of anime fandom through a variety of activities such as cosplay, panels, games, and other special popular culture events.
SMASH! 2012 saw record crowds of more than 6,200 people attending the event. Amongst the crowd were avid cosplayers, manga and anime fans, and special Japanese voice-acting guests such as Yuko Miyamura (Neon Genesis Evangelion), Miki Shin-ichiro (Bleach, Initial D, Gundam 00) and Sakura Tange (Cardcaptor Sakura).
More information about SMASH! 2013 will be published over the next few months as the convention draws closer. For further details about this great event visit the website.
