Welcome the first day of Spring with a free (yes, I said FREE) live show from local Podcast Duo of 'Smart Enough to Know Better'. Local boys Greg Wah & Dan Beeston front the fortnightly podcast where no scientific topic (or any topic) will be left untouched. A focus on science, comedy and well, ignorance. Previous podcasts have seen them discuss a wide range of topics from vegan diets, prank calls, rebooting the universe and Jurassic Park. They have special guest interviews from a wide range of backgrounds too. The live show on Tuesday 1st September at Brisbanes Powerhouse marks a momentous event of the 100th podcast, and you're invited to come along for the ride.
A night of fun, this special 100th episode will take the form of a game show, where the audience can bring random facts and tidbits to be included in the show. The show will be judged by 4 guest judges who will have the hard task of deciding who has the best science facts of the night: ABC Breakfast Radio Host – Spencer Howson
Energy Expert – Dr Joel Gilmore QLD Minister for Science and Innovation - The Honourable Leeanne Enoch
Come along for a laugh and your chance at winning some of the prizes up for grabs. You've got a few weeks, so why not catch up on some of the past podcasts before the show. You can find them all here.
Both Greg & Dan have been doing improvised theatre for 15 years and have performed at some of the biggest impro shows throughout Australia. These boys even attempted to officially name the unnamed Earths 'Sun' with the International Astronomical Union. Hey, I think Chad is a good name for the Sun even if the IAU didn't oblige. The podcast 'Smart Enough to Know Better' was born when they quickly learnt their scientific debates in public became rather entertaining for those around them. And now you're invited to be entertained with their 100th episode live at the Powerhouse.
For more details about Greg & Dan and other areas they can help you – start exploring the website above. They can be an official MC for your next event, provide comedic relief or even host Murder Mystery Parties. Men of many talents.
The gig kicks off at 7pm on the Turbine Platform, so bring your best belly laugh, random science facts and get set to have a cheap night out as the Chad sets in the Brisbane sky!
