NomNom Pets was established in March, and officially debuted at the launch of
Pets at the Gabba Markets , Brisbane's first ever "pets only" market - what a fitting start for a business that is quickly becoming a household name in the local Brisbane dog community! Created, owned and managed by an avid dog lover, Kelly established NomNom with the principle of giving our pets only the best, because they deserve nothing less than that - or in her words, to "Treat Them Right"! Being a "pawrent" herself, Kelly understands best the needs of fellow dog owners who are health advocates for their pups.
NomNom has a range of human-grade homemade delights, made "from our kitchen to yours" - this guarantees that you know
exactly what ingredients your beloved furbaby is consuming. All products are made with love and care, which not only are preservative free, but also contain
no added sugar, salt, artificial colours or flavours! In addition, products are low in fat and are gluten free. Kelly has put in hours and hours of research into the best possible ingredients to use in her products, in order to maximise both taste
and health benefits for your pooch. With all the hard work already done for you, why not take advantage and reap the benefits?
NomNom currently has 3 flavours of treats available, all of which are equally amazing in their own right. There's bound to be at least one that suits your pooch's taste! Choose from:
Beef Chips (made from beef, sweet potato, turmeric and thyme)
NomNom Pets' official taste testers are Donut (Kelpie cross Labrador) and Ragnar (Kelpie cross Chihuahua). Join them on their fun adventures by following them on Instagram, under the name of
donut.ragnar.starboys .
Prices start from $7 for a 30g packet of treats, with discounts if you purchase two or more in the same transaction. Treats can last for at least 4 weeks from baking date (found at the back of each packet), but, as they are dehydrated, they can stay fresh for much longer if stored in the fridge or freezer. If you've tried treats from NomNom Pets and can't wait to get your paws on more, remember to leave them a review on Facebook to get 10% off your next order!
[SECTION]2. Mila & Co.[/SECTION]

Mila & Co. was officially launched in April by Reni, a Graphic Designer / Digital Artist / Illustrator, fulfilling a lifelong dream to combine her immense love of animals and design into the one outlet. Reni grew up in a family and household which had so many pets, and so many different types of pets, that "one would think we live in a zoo"! She started her journey in graphic design over a decade ago, and has been designing every day since then.

Originally hailing from
Jakarta, Indonesia, Reni moved to
Christchurch, New Zealand at the age of 9, before making a brave decision to leave everything behind and move to
Brisbane, Australia just five years ago. Reni probably would not have been able to do this without knowing that she has, and always will have, the full support of her family. It is for this reason that Reni chose to name her business "Mila", after her mum's old shop called "Mila's Collection" - the purpose was to continue her mum's legacy, something "so close to my heart". The letters, which make up "Mila", come from the initials of her mum, dad, and two other brothers - Reni didn't quite make the cut as she was born
after the fact!
Mila & Co. create beautiful digital pet pawtraits that are the perfect gifts and decorative pieces for the animal lovers out there. What's even better is that they are open for commission,
worldwide! Designs can be tailored to match the individual pet's personality and looks, to help make your piece that extra bit more special. Despite having only been operating for 4 short months, Mila & Co. has already accepted commissions from multiple famous local canine celebrities - if this isn't a testament to Reni's talent, then I don't know what is! Canine celebrities who have had their paw trait created by Mila & Co. include:
@amospearce (Catahoula x Beagle rescue dog with the most "boop-able" nose)
One of the sources of inspiration behind Mila & Co. is Reni's dog Kiba, a super cute English Staffy cross Kelpie. Kiba was adopted on the 17th of September 2016, and has been living the good life since then. She's also become a proud 'Furbassador' for
RSPCA ! It is worth noting that Mila & Co. also create pawtraits pro-bono for dogs in rescue organisations, to aid them in finding their forever home. Follow Kiba on her social media accounts to check out all the fun adventures she goes on, under
@ourdogkiba (Instagram) and
Kiba (Facebook).
Message Reni on Facebook or Instagram to find out more information, including pricing. Prices differ depending on the number of pets included within the same portrait. Customers will receive a 20cm x 20cm square digital portrait in a high-resolution JPEG file, ready for them to print, frame, and proudly display in their home or office.

%%Instagram:

The Pawty Barkery officially launches
tomorrow, on the 7th of August 2017 - on behalf of WeekendNotes, Eddy, Sam and I would like to extend a big
congratulations to The Pawty Barkery and the masterminds behind the business! The Pawty Barkery is your newest go-to doggie bakery when it comes to special occasions like birthdays, 'gotcha days', welcome home days... or even just-because-I-love-you-and-felt-like-spoiling-you days, because we all need some of that unconditional love in our lives.
Owner Chantelle, a self-proclaimed "Crazy Dog Lady", has concocted her own unique recipe of pupcakes; trial-and-error-ing her way to perfection, in the form of two yummy flavours of pupcakes that are delicious in their own right. All ingredients used in these pupcakes are human-grade, meaning that you could technically share these pupcakes with your pooch! Plus, there are no additives, preservatives, or nasties of any kind, meaning that even the biggest doggie health nuts will approve of these sweet treats. The current flavours of pupcakes that The Pawty Barkery has available are:
Banana & Peanut Butter Pupcake
Apple & Bacon Pupcake
The official taste testers of The Pawty Barkery go by the name of Zeus (German Shepherd) and P (Staffy cross). Or, if you go by their official title, Zeus and P are Chief Pupcake Tasters - what an impressive addition to their doggie resume! Follow their adventures on Instagram, under
@theadventuresofzeusandp .
In addition to Zeus and P, The Pawty Barkery has also won the paw of approval from a sleuth of gourmet doggie treat connoisseurs, including
Ragnar (Deputy Chief Tasting Officer of
NomNom Pets ),
Murphy (Official Taste Tester of
Paw Printery ),
Dog (spoilt rescue pup whose Mum personally makes his own bandanas), and Kiba (one of the sources of inspiration behind
Mila & Co. , and
RSPCA Furbassador). Eddy and Sam have also personally taste tested these pupcakes (although no photos were taken as they were gobbled down too quickly), and also give their pug lick of approval!
Prices start at $4 per pupcake, with discounts for bulk purchases. Go the extra mile to spoil your pup with a box of 6 pupcakes for $20, or go all out and purchase a box of 12 pupcakes for $40! For more information regarding pricing and/or delivery, contact The Pawty Barkery directly via email ([email protected]), Instagram , or Facebook .

love!
The muse behind the idea and the dog behind the logo of Monty Moo & Co. is none other than Monty, the Bull Terrier x German Shepherd x Greyhound x Whippet rescue dog, who was adopted from the RSPCA at 4 months of age. Follow Monty on his many fun adventures and marvel at his footy fetch skills under
@mymatemontymoo (Instagram) and
My Mate Monty Moo (Facebook).
Paw Printery
Instagram: www.instagram.com/pawprintery
There are lots of different treats out there on the market, but how many different treat companies do you know that can
and are willing to customise your dog's treats? Well, the answer is, unfortunately, not many - but that's okay, one company is more than enough! Thank dogness for Paw Printery - because where else would we get our fix of pawsonalised doggie treats? Paw Printery is a soon-to-come business that will stamp any words that you want on their cute bone-shaped treats. Just think of the endless pawssibilities!
Dogs are our fur-children, so why should they be treated any differently to human kids? Parents are encouraged by schools to mark all their children's clothes with their name, because children are prone to losing their belongings, right? Well, the same can be said of dogs - it's up to us pawrents to make sure they have everything they need! Paw Printery is here to make sure your dog never "loses" their treats to another dog again - that other dog won't be able to pass the treats off as their own, because
your dog's name will be on it! Who else can't wait for Paw Printery to launch so that they can get their creative side on?
The official taste tester of Paw Printery treats goes by the name of Murphy, a 1 year old English Cocker Spaniel who was born exactly one day before Sam. Follow Murphy and his cute floppy ears on Instagram, under
@murphy.spaniel .
Eddy and Sam were lucky enough to be able to taste test biscuits from Paw Printery - not only are they aesthetically pleasing, they're also delicious, judging by how hard the boys worked for them, and how quickly they were gobbled down!
