SLQ Fun Palace is coming to the State Library of Queensland these school holidays!

This FREE event will be held for one day only on Saturday 3rd of October, 2015.

This event is part of the global Fun Palace initiative, which is taking place around the world this October. The event is inspired by Joan Littlewood and architect Cedric Price's Fun Palace, created in the early 1960s. Described as a 'laboratory of fun' and 'a university of the streets', it was a temporary and movable home to the arts and sciences, which was open and welcoming to all.

Bring the kids from 10am to 4pm and see SLQ transform into a hub of excitement, where science and creativity will collide!

This all-ages event is sure to be awe-inspiring! During the morning and afternoon, you'll get to:

  • Meet a giant virus and help it grow

  • Pilot a curious flying machine

  • Command an army of robots to do your bidding

  • Watch demonstrations that will blow your mind

  • Play with awesome new technologies that will make you feel like a cutting-edge creative

  • Be entertained by amazing human kinetics

  • Turn vegetables into art supplies

Prepare for an explosion of fun at SLQ Fun Palace this Spring!

The full program of events will be unveiled closer to the event date, but in the meantime visit for all the latest.
