A Twisted Start to your Day
The Corner of 'Slightly' and 'Twisted'
Upon walking into the café you can easily see why it was awarded the best new business in Nundah. The funky décor and relaxed chilled vibe is enhanced by the alternative music playing in the background.
The quick-witted staff here actually encourage cheeky banter and are willing to take a few sledges from customers, providing they can give it back.
We tried the Pulled Pork Sandwich, marinated in Patrick's own secret Bourbon BBQ Sauce and the Southern Style Clubbed Chicken Sandwich. I washed my sandwich down with a Mango Frappe while my husband washed his down with a Mocha Milkshake. This was, hands down, the best café meal we have eaten in a long time.
You'll find a slightly twisted array of items on the menu including Exquisite Elixar Coffee, Slurp and T2 tea, milkshakes and their own blend of flavoured sodas. Not only do the guys serve the traditional café meals all day, but they also serve breakfast until 3pm on the weekend (12pm during the week).
Unfortunately, we were too full to fit in dessert, but I was very tempted by the selection I could see in their glass cabinet. The desserts included: Caramel and Macadamia Tart, Lemon Meringue Tart, Pecan Flan, Raspberry and White Chocolate Torte and Mango Baked Cheesecake. I could also see plenty of gluten free desserts like Orange Jaffa slice, Hazelnut Baci and a tasty looking Pistachio, White Chocolate and Cranberry Slice.
The café often has live music on a Sunday afternoon from 1-3pm (generally its the first 3 Sundays of each month) where you can enjoy a snack while you drink your BYO wine.
