Slavic culture at its best will be seen here
The beautiful land of rivers and mountains, Macedonia is the only place in Europe where you can find ruby gemstones. It's the country where the Cyrillic alphabet was founded, the Slavic literacy started and indeed the first wireless broadband connection in the world started. It is many other things and is also the motherland of Alexander the Great and the popular and hard-working Mother Teresa.
The Macedonian food is inspired by the Mediterranean, however, it also reflects the Middle Eastern and Balkan cuisines. It has many varieties of herbs making its meat meals full of delightful odours, has great wines and local alcoholic beverages such as rakija. They have a very rich culture in Macedonia and this is seen by their customs, poetry, legends, colourful costumes, great folklore and memorable music. The rich cultural heritage uses very picturesque traditional folk costumes, decorations and ornaments.
