A drive through the Dandenong Ranges is not complete without a visit to the SkyHigh lookout. However, the Easter School Holiday program for kids is sure to make SkyHigh your destination of choice this April. The activities listed below are free, but a $6 gate fee per car still applies.
Arrive early for the 10am Easter Egg Hunt and an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny himself.
Take part in Igor the Giant's Treasure Hunt between 11am 5pm, see the stilt walkers between 2pm & 4pm, play on the Ocean Adventure Slide from 11am 4pm.
For budding performers, there is an extra special activity running at Sky High on Sunday 27th March, Monday 28th March, Tuesday 29th March and Wednesday 30th March. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy are leading high energy drama activities including improvisation, movement and role play activity every half hour from 11am to 2.30pm. There is a maximum of 20 primary school aged participants per class and places can only be booked on the day.
Monday 28th March
Activities include the Ocean Adventure slide from 11am 4pm, Igor the Giant's Treasure Hunt from 11am 5pm, Stilt walkers between 2pm 4pm and Helen O'Grady drama activities.
Tuesday 29th March
In addition to Igor the Giant's Treasure Hunt and Helen O'Grady's drama activities, kids can enjoy the bouncy castle, nine hole mini golf, face painting frm 11am 1pm, activities with the gardener from 1pm 3pm or participate in the Ruccis Circus Workshop between 3pm 5pm with activities including juggling, hula-hoop, devil sticks and more.
Wednesday 30th March
Pony rides! Come along between 11am 1pm for a pony ride and at the same time see the live magician.
The Sky High Fairy will be hosting music and games from 1pm 3pm.
SkyHigh is open 7 days a week, every day of the year from 9am weekdays and 8am weekends and public holidays, until 10pm every night and the night view is absolutely spectacular.
The SkyHigh restaurant has won numerous awards and is a popular party and wedding reception venue. There is also an onsite café, picnic tables and BBQ facilities for people who prefer to bring their own food.
Enjoy the considerately designed English Garden by taking a stroll and stopping to see the Wishing Tree and Percy Possum's House.
For more serious walkers there is a path through the native bushland surroundings where you will find the Kyeema Memorial Site, erected on the location of a DC-2 plane crash in 1938.
The SkyHigh lookout and gardens are situated at 6 Observatory Road, Mt Dandenong, less than an hours drive from Melbourne.
