On Saturday, 17th March, Skyfire fireworks spectacular will be held over Lake Burley Griffin. This fireworks event began in 1989, with local radio station FM 104.7 hosting the fireworks as their contribution to the Canberra Festival that year. It was such a success, that it now happens every year, with a matching soundtrack to the fireworks broadcast on their radio station.

Canberra Southern Cross Cruises has a Skyfire Cruise out onto the lake, so you can enjoy the spectacular with a canapes, a 3 beverage package and dessert, for $110 per person. Boarding commences at 7pm and returns at 10:30pm to the Yacht Club. See the Canberra Southern Cross website for details and bookings.
