Skyfire has been postponed from 14th March 2020 until later in the year, due to the Corona Virus.
What's on around the lake
Skyfire is a spectacular firework display that is held each March over Lake Burley Griffin, organised by local radio station FM 104.7. The very first event was held in 1989 to celebrate the Canberra Festival that year and it was so popular, that it has been held every year since. This year it will be held on Saturday, 14th March as part of Canberra's Enlighten Festival.
The fireworks will begin at 8:30pm and will have a 20 minute music soundtrack to match, so take a radio with you and enjoy the beats that synchronise with the fireworks. Also, take a picnic blanket with you and grab your spot around the lake, while enjoying food from some of Canberra's favourite food trucks set up at Commonwealth Park by Skyfire EATS, who will be there from 10am. There will also be live entertainment from Skyfire Central at Regatta Point with Ned & Josh from 6pm.
