Located at Lot 343 Ramsden Street, Wandal, is one of our favourite places to do water activities that is just about a 5 minute drive from Rockhampton CBD. Just go to Lion Creek Road then turn to Huet Street, and then turn to Ramsden Street. You can see the edge of Fitzroy River from Ramsden Street.





Surrounded by parkland, filled with big shady trees, this part of Fitzroy River is always busy on the weekends and holidays, with plenty of water activities to do such as paddle board, kayak, canoe, etc, as well as boating, jet skiing and many more. Fishing, even just by sitting on the bank of the river, could catch some big barramundi. There is boat ramp access with a two-lane ramp to access the ski and fishing areas upstream of the Fitzroy River weir.





Just remember not to do fishing within 400m of the barrage, and no swimming and bathing within 200m upstream and 400m downstream of the barrage. Only allow up to 6 knots for motorised watercraft.



Other facilities in this area include a free gas BBQ, picnic tables, a playground, plenty of shade area under the trees and amenity blocks.
