A is being held on Sunday 27th August, 2017 at the Esplanade Youth Plaza (EYP) in Fremantle.



All equipment (including safety gear) will be supplied with registration on the day, so if you are a beginner or if you just want to improve your skills on a skateboard, make sure you mark this day and attend this free Event to learn some new tricks and skills.

The team from Skateboarding WA will be there to help you out, and teach you.



The Event is for youth and kids and Mums and Dads can go have a coffee on the streets of Fremantle or in the many eating establishments in the area.

The Fremantle Skate Park was designed and constructed by Convic and Fremantle's Esplanade Youth Plaza celebrated its grand opening in 2014.

Following the year long design and construction process of this $1.8 million multi-functional community space, the Park is popular with youngsters and teenagers and skateboarding is a great way for young people to be outdoors, meet people and learn new skills.

The City of Fremantle regularly hosts skateboarding clinics, competitions and other showcase events at the Esplanade Youth Plaza.

You will be required to register before participation occurs, and you can download one of these forms from here or you can fill it in on the day.

In wet or extreme weather conditions - please check the Fremantle Youth Facebook page for cancellations 1 to 2 hours before the scheduled Event time.

ABOUT SKATEBOARDING WA
Skateboarding WA (SWA) is an organisation run by dedicated Western Australian skateboarders who live, love and breathe skateboarding!

In partnership with both local governments and the skateboarding industry, SWA works to get youth of all ages interested in their programmes, through their unique state wide skateboarding programmes.

SWA aims to promote and develop skateboarding throughout Western Australia, to allow more people to be able to participate and to learn skill development in this pastime.



They are also active in getting councils to build new skate parks to make it safer for our youth to skate. Skateboarding WA offers programmes of all shapes and sizes to cater to community needs, with skateboards, helmets, music and good times also being provided.

They also teach adults to skate, so you can learn to do this along with your children, and thus make a family outing which includes skateboarding. You can also have private skateboarding lessons for your family as well as group lessons - all equipment can be provided, though of course, if you have your own, you can use these.

You can even hire them for Birthday parties and events and all the equipment will be brought by them.
